Install guide
How to install iMPlayer on Android
Installing iMPlayer on Android comes down to two parts: getting the app onto the device, then signing in with your IPTV details. Android phones and tablets install the app straight from the Google Play Store. iMPlayer is one of the most cross-platform players, running on almost every device and syncing your playlist across them once it's set up.
This guide covers both steps for Android, using an OTTV subscription as the example. You'll sign in with an Xtream Codes login — a server URL, username and password.
Install method: Install from the Google Play Store.
Step 1: get iMPlayer onto your Android
- 1
Open the Google Play Store
On your Android, open the Google Play Store from the home screen.
- 2
Search for iMPlayer
Search for iMPlayer and select it, checking the developer name matches the official app before you install.
- 3
Install and open
Choose Install, wait for it to finish, then open iMPlayer.
Step 2: sign in with your subscription
- 4
Choose an Xtream Codes login
In iMPlayer, choose to add a playlist or user and pick the "Xtream Codes" / "Login with Xtream Codes API" option.
- 5
Enter your OTTV details
Type the server URL, username and password from your OTTV welcome email exactly as shown, then give the playlist a name you'll recognise.
- 6
Let it load
Save and let iMPlayer download your channels, categories and TV guide. The first load can take a minute.
Don't have login details yet? An OTTV free trial gives you a working Xtream Codes and M3U login to test on your Android before you commit. See the Set up IPTV on Android guide or the iMPlayer full guide for more detail.

Frequently asked.
- Is iMPlayer free on Android?
- The iMPlayer app is free to install on Android. You still need an active IPTV subscription to sign in and watch — a few players also charge a one-time fee to unlock extras like recording.
- Which login details do I need for iMPlayer?
- iMPlayer signs in with an Xtream Codes login — a server URL, username and password. You can also load a full M3U URL if you prefer. OTTV sends both in your welcome email.
- Will the TV guide work in iMPlayer on Android?
- Yes — once your playlist loads, iMPlayer fills in the EPG for channels your subscription provides guide data for. A blank guide is usually the EPG source or a player setting rather than the Android itself.
