Install guide
How to install iPlayTV on iPhone & iPad
Installing iPlayTV on iPhone & iPad comes down to two parts: getting the app onto the device, then signing in with your IPTV details. On iPhone and iPad the app comes straight from the App Store. iPlayTV is an App Store player for Apple hardware that takes an Xtream Codes login or an M3U URL.
This guide covers both steps for iPhone & iPad, using an OTTV subscription as the example. You'll sign in with an Xtream Codes login — a server URL, username and password.
Install method: Install from the App Store.
Step 1: get iPlayTV onto your iPhone & iPad
- 1
Open the App Store
On your iPhone & iPad, open the App Store.
- 2

Step 2: sign in with your subscription
- 4
Choose an Xtream Codes login
In iPlayTV, choose to add a playlist or user and pick the "Xtream Codes" / "Login with Xtream Codes API" option.
- 5
Enter your OTTV details
Type the server URL, username and password from your OTTV welcome email exactly as shown, then give the playlist a name you'll recognise.
- 6
Let it load
Save and let iPlayTV download your channels, categories and TV guide. The first load can take a minute.
Don't have login details yet? An OTTV free trial gives you a working Xtream Codes and M3U login to test on your iPhone & iPad before you commit. See the Set up IPTV on iPhone & iPad guide or the iPlayTV full guide for more detail.

How iPlayTV connects
Frequently asked.
- Is iPlayTV free on iPhone & iPad?
- The iPlayTV app is free to install on iPhone & iPad. You still need an active IPTV subscription to sign in and watch — a few players also charge a one-time fee to unlock extras like recording.
- Which login details do I need for iPlayTV?
- iPlayTV signs in with an Xtream Codes login — a server URL, username and password. You can also load a full M3U URL if you prefer. OTTV sends both in your welcome email.
- Will the TV guide work in iPlayTV on iPhone & iPad?
- Yes — once your playlist loads, iPlayTV fills in the EPG for channels your subscription provides guide data for. A blank guide is usually the EPG source or a player setting rather than the iPhone & iPad itself.
